                                                          ‘Meet the Artists ’

An illustrated talk and discussion with International playwright   Gillian Plowman, and International Theatre director and Designer Pamela Howard.The focus of this event will be the design  and writing of the  End of the Journey, and be an excellent  precursor to anyone interested in seeing the production of The End of the JourneyOpen to all ages: July 11th @2pm, lasting one and half hrs. Selsey Town Hall. Cost £2.00 payable on the door

                                                ‘Writing Workshop on World War I’

Selsey Writers’ Circle will host an open workshop on July 15th at the Selsey Club from 2.30 till 4.30.  Led by Alex Palmer and Gillian Plowman, the session will include research and discussion, followed by individual and personal writing in the genre of your choice.  These will then be read and recorded as a podcast for Selsey radio, and streamed on the Selsey 57 Website. This is a free event 

                                                  'A Dark Day Dawned'

This is a  commemorative review focussing on Selsey and WW1. It will include songs,poetry,and prose  past and present. Special mention and information of those commemorated on the Selsey War Memorial will add poignancy to the review. An exhibition focusing  on the research work of the U3A into the Selsey war dead and those who survived will be displayed in the Council Chamber adjacent to the main hall. Pay Bar/coffee/ and teas will be available. Selsey Town Hall, 55 High Street, Selsey, PO20 0RB Sunday 3rd August 7.30pm.Monday 4th of August 3pm & 7.30pm.Entry £5 

                                                      ‘The End of the Journey’

A promenade theatre piece based on WW1,  written by Gillian Plowman and directed by Pamela Howard. Performed by local community and professional actors. At the Pavilion Theatre 103 High Street Selsey on: Tuesday   5th, Wednesday 6th, Thursday 7th, Friday 8th of August showing at 6.15pm and 7.45pm. Saturday 9th and Sunday the 10th of August Performance times 2-00pm,3.30pm, 6.15pm 7.45pm. Tickets can   be bought on line at artsdreamselsey.ticketsource.co.uk( debit and credit cards)and at High House Insurance Shop at: 121 High Street Selsey, from 9:00am-5:00pm daily and Saturdays 9:00-1:00pm.( cash and cheque only)Ticket Prices:£8.00/ concessions -  seniors, children £7.00.                                                       The Selsey 57 Exhibition.

On the 8th,9th, and 10th of August. At the  Selsey Works  Exhibition Centre 58. High Street Selsey

10-4pm daily. The focus of this exhibition  will be the heritage of the fishing village of Selsey during the First World War and the objects, photographs, documents, books, articles, maps and personal memories that tell the  narratives  of the 57 individuals who lost their lives in battle.                                ‘A Youth Drama workshop based on War Horse’

On Wednesday 20th of August  2-3.30pm At the Selsey Centre  12 years and above. All abilities welcome   (free entry) A chance  for young people to  polish up  their Drama skills and work with a visiting practitioner from Filkskittheatre on developing some exciting and dynamic  improvised and text based material based on the WW1 story of WarHorse
