'THE SELSEY 57'
'THE SELSEY 57'
The Selsey 57 is an intergenerational and collaborative project, led by Arts Dream Selsey that promotes understanding of a range of Heritage processes and focuses on the 57 men from Selsey who fell in the First World War.
There is a specific focus on youth as participants in experiential arts workshops,to generate audiovisual material, and to be trained as ,project researchers,website assistants, and website administrators. The project is an interpretation of history for the digital age and consists of :
1. The Selsey 57 Website. Included on the site are:
a) Historical documents, case studies, media articles,personal letters, technical reports,images,video and sounds files, and primary resource information from descendants
b) A 3D interactive Google map of the village of Selsey in 1914-1918, identifying the names and streets of the fallen and returned.
c) The development of an on- line curriculum resource in the form of teaching materials for educational purposes
d) original responses and art works from the young people
e) generative technologies such as chat rooms, blogs, quizes and games
2) Additionally there has been a three day major multimedia exhibition of the research material to include interactive computer exhibits, and re-creations.

This is a very exciting project for us as it is is a collaboration between, The Selsey Society-The local history group, the Selsey Academy,the Selsey Branch of the U3A, The Selsey Archivist, The British Legion and of course Arts Dream.
