Sing your heart out !

The health and well- being benefits from regular singing have been highlighted by research by the Sidney De Haan Centre (part of Canterbury University) which found it improved mood, relieved depression, reduced stress levels and the risk of isolation. If done regularly, it can lead to many physical and mental improvements such as improved breathing, and posture while providing a boost for the immune system.

The Royal Brompton Hospital now offers ‘Singing for Breathing’ sessions for their patients with COPD and other respiratory conditions, and similar groups are taking place all over the country.

Gathering to sing together regularly can help make us feel more energised and uplifted. Many people in Selsey have long term health issues, are unemployed, feel isolated and lack motivation to leave the house    a new area, unemployment, bereavement and even the children leaving the nest can leave us feeling empty. Making music has the ability to banish the blues. But singing is fun whatever your motivation. So come along and enjoy yourself in a supportive friendly environment !
