'tonight at the Pavilion Laurel and Hardy'
From the team that gave you The End of the Journey and Tonight at the Pavilion Charlie Chaplin comes a new play 'Tonight at the Pavilion Laurel and Hardy. Very different to the other 2 but just as riveting, and again written by one of the Arts Dream team Gillian Plowman.
In our play we meet Steve and Phil, who are struggling actors hoping to 'break through'
with their new Laurel and Hardy act. With their rented flat doubling up as a rehearsal space, and Steve's long suffering girlfriend Meg doubling up as wives, floosies, lights, sound and everything else they need the three of them start to feel the affection that Stan and Ollie
had for each other affecting their own lives. With songs, dances, comedy sketches and sad bits, Laurel and Hardy continue to delight us, and the Pavilion gives us another piece of exciting theatre.
This was a very exciting show for us as we were working once again with Jeff and the Pavilion, as well as some of our favorite performers, Daniel Bowring, Briony Laker, and our Selsey Community Choir leader Matt Hoff.
Once again the Pavilion has been transformed. Jeff built a stage, and the black out facilities and the new carpet were very much admired.
450 people came to the show and the skills of Matt,Briony and Dan were applauded, for their virtuosity and their detailed attention to the strife of our three protagonists.
Another magical play from Gillian. Thanks to everyone involved and to all our sponsors and t6o Tony Tomlinson for once again taking some stunning cast photographs.
