  • LEARNING TO FLY NOVEMBER

an exciting afternoon of singing

Picture
Arts Dream is delighted to be able to bring Andre Nascimento to the Selsey Festival, for a dynamic and entertaining afternoon of choral work. The event will take place at the Town Hall Selsey, from 2-5pm on August the 3rd. A mid-point tea break to refresh the vocal chords, will enthuse participants on for a rousing and uplifting conclusion to the afternoon.   Tickets are £3.00 on the door to include refreshments.

and what a great afternoon it was!

'Oh what a night' or more precisely what a fabulous afternoon of singing, although 'Oh what a night' featured as one of the very appropriate songs, and didn't we all do well! Four songs with three parts in a few hours! The 25 of us romped through ' Summer time', reflected on ' Yesterday', got very rhythmical in the gospel hymn 'I offer my Life' and boogied on down, and doo -dood and dit -ditted quite a lot in the finale of 'Oh what a night'.

Such an achievement in so short a time was definitely down to our amazing conductor. Andre Nassimento. He is a born choral leader, having a vibrant dynamic personality, an amazing singing voice, a great sense of humour and the enthusiasm and love for the understanding of Music and its narrative to enthuse us into aiming for the stars,- well the top notes at least!

It was lovely to see how the pianist Sue and Andre worked so intuitively together, and the Selsey Town Hall was a perfect venue. Light airy and comfortable.

Every single person there from the youngsters, to the not so young, had an extremely enjoyable afternoon, and made such comments as' what an amazing teacher' 'he's an inspiration' he's a magician, ' what a charismatic personality' and ' when can we do it again?'

We left inspired to join a choir, left fitter with strong lungs and open hearts, left with new contacts and dates for coffee in our diaries, and a sense of well-being on our achievements.

So a definite success for Arts Dream, and watch this space as Andre will be back!!
